Guardian is my first and only feature screenplay. Wry, emotionally driven, and historically poignant, the film centers around Lewis Husser, a jovial, struggling musician in New York City who is crushed in the North Tower of the World Trade Center on September 11th, 2001. After a tense, ironic, and yet tender encounter with a modern, blue-suited Jesus, Lewis chooses to stay on earth and protect his girlfriend, who drowns in heroin, promiscuity, and depression after his loss and Garrett, Lewis' brother, whose wrathful vengeance has him enlisting in the Marine Corps. and deploying to Afghanistan, where he is seized by Al-Qaeda operatives and held for ransom. All under the paranormal law, perhaps most painfully to Lewis, that Lewis may never touch nor brush their skin again through the veil. In order to guard them from the world and from themselves, Lewis endures emotional and physical agony never believed possible in the hereafter.
